In short: Sell My Tech is a UK specialist buyer of Cambridge Audio — the London hi-fi maker with a deep used following. We buy the CXA61 and CXA81 integrated amps, the Edge A and Edge NQ flagships, the older Azur 651A and 851A integrateds, the CXN (V2) and newer MXN streamers, the Evo 75 and Evo 150 all-in-ones, DacMagic DACs, the CXC CD transport and the Aero and SX speakers. Generation matters here — Azur, CX or Edge. We handle the boxes ourselves, collect free across the UK and pay on exchange.

Our Cambridge Audio buying process

Sell your Cambridge Audio in four steps

Four steps. From the details to payment, with free insured collection across the UK.

01

Tell us the Cambridge Audio gear

The model and generation (e.g. CXA81 integrated, Edge NQ preamp/streamer or an Azur 851A), whether it's an amp, a streamer, an all-in-one or a DAC, condition, the remote and box, and your postcode.

02

Get your offer

A market-led figure set by the model tier, the generation (Azur, CX or Edge), boxing with the remote and condition. Streamers and all-in-ones priced on platform and firmware support. Usually back within hours.

03

Accept & book collection

Free, careful collection from your door at a slot that suits you. A weighty Edge A or a stacked CXN-and-CXA pairing is lifted and padded properly, with no courier to chance.

04

We power it up, confirm both channels on an amp, the streaming board on a CXN or the disc transport on a CXC, check it matches your description, then pay you straight away by bank transfer.

UK Cambridge Audio specialist

What you get when a specialist does the buying

No marketplace risk, no posting heavy kit, no lowball trade-in. A buyer who knows what your gear is really worth.

Paid on exchange

Faster Payment by bank transfer the moment we've powered the Cambridge Audio up and verified it. Funds clear in under 2 hours for most UK banks.

Free, careful collection

A heavy Edge A or an Evo 150 stack is no fun to box and post. We lift, pad and carry every unit ourselves, so there's no risky courier and no packing on your end.

Amps, streamers, handled right

Power amps cushioned, streaming and DAC boards protected, channels tested, chain of custody logged. A CXN, a DacMagic or a full Evo system gets treated like the kit it is.

Market-led offers

Benchmarked against sold prices for that exact Cambridge Audio model — eBay-sold, HifiShark, Audio Trader and the specialist dealers. Current figures, no haggling.

We know the generations

Azur 851A against a CXA81, an Edge A against the CX line, CXN V2 against the newer MXN, what a boxed Evo 150 holds. We price on the real used market, generation by generation.

Support that replies

Real people who know a CXA61 from a CXA81, and an Edge NQ from a CXN, not bots. Most quote requests answered within 2 hours during UK business hours.

Cambridge Audio we buy

Every kind of Cambridge Audio

Based in Yorkshire · UK-wide collection

Most common

CXA61 & CXA81 integrated amps

The stereo amps we see most — the CXA61 and the higher-powered CXA81, the backbone of the current CX line. Strong, steady sellers, especially boxed with the remote. Send the model and condition.

Flagship

Edge A & Edge NQ

The Edge range sits at the top — the Edge A integrated and the Edge NQ preamp/streamer. Heavy, premium and sought-after on the used market. Boxing and condition drive a lot here; tell us what's included.

Earlier generation

Azur 651A & 851A integrateds

The older Azur line still has a keen following — the 651A and the flagship 851A integrateds. Generation matters: an 851A values differently from a current CX amp. Send the model, condition and whether it's boxed.

Streaming & all-in-one

CXN, MXN, Evo & DacMagic

Network streamers (CXN V2 and the newer MXN), the Evo 75 and Evo 150 all-in-ones, and DacMagic DACs. Platform and firmware support matter — note whether it's the original CXN or the newer board.

Faulty & spares

Faulty, dead channel or streaming fault

A dropped channel, a scratchy volume control, a CXN that won't hold a network connection, a CXC transport that won't read or a blown protection circuit — none of these stop us buying desirable Cambridge Audio. Tell us the fault and we'll still quote.

Also buying

CXC transport, speakers & full systems

The CXC CD transport, Aero and SX speakers, and complete systems. Building or breaking up a setup? We quote the amp, the streamer, the DAC and the speakers together as one lot in a single visit.

Cambridge Audio selling FAQ

Questions from sellers, answered

Common questions from people selling their Cambridge Audio. Answered honestly.

What Cambridge Audio gear do you buy?
The CXA61 and CXA81 integrated amps, the Edge A and Edge NQ flagships, the older Azur 651A and 851A integrateds, CXN (V2) and MXN streamers, the Evo 75 and Evo 150 all-in-ones, DacMagic DACs, the CXC CD transport and Aero and SX speakers. Current models or sought-after earlier ones. If it's a recognised Cambridge Audio in reasonable order, it's worth asking about.
What's my Cambridge Audio worth?
It turns on the model tier, the generation (Azur, CX or Edge), whether it's boxed with the remote, and condition — so we don't publish a single figure. A boxed Edge A or Evo 150 sits at the top; a well-used CXA61 or a Magic-era DacMagic sits lower. The price guide above gives current indicative buy-back bands by model; send the exact unit for a firm offer.
How do you price a Cambridge Audio amp or streamer?
Five things: the exact model and generation, whether it's an integrated amp, a streamer, an all-in-one or a DAC, condition, what's included (remote, box, lead) and any service history. Streamers and all-in-ones are also priced on platform and firmware support. Mention each in the quote form for the fastest, most accurate figure.
Does the generation matter — Azur, CX or Edge?
It does, a great deal. The Azur line, the current CX range and the flagship Edge series each carry their own demand and pricing, even where the role is the same. An Azur 851A values differently from a CXA81, and an Edge A sits above both. Tell us the generation, or send a photo of the fascia and rear panel, and we'll price the right one.
Do you buy Cambridge Audio streamers and all-in-ones? (CXN, MXN, Evo)
Yes — the CXN V2 and the newer MXN network streamers, and the Evo 75 and Evo 150 all-in-ones. The platform generation and firmware support drive the figure most: a streamer still receiving updates is worth more than an early board that's been left behind. Tell us which version it is and whether the remote and box are present.
Do you buy DacMagic DACs and the CXC CD transport?
Yes. The DacMagic line (from the older Magic units up to the DacMagic 200M) and the CXC dedicated CD transport are both worth selling. On the CXC the transport and laser condition matter most — tell us if it reads discs cleanly. On a DacMagic, note the model and whether the USB and optical inputs all work.
Can I sell a faulty Cambridge Audio — dead channel, scratchy control or streaming fault?
Yes, on desirable models especially. A dropped or intermittent channel, a crackly volume control, a CXN that won't hold a network connection, a CXC that won't read discs, or a blown protection circuit — none of these necessarily stop a sale. We buy for repair and resale. Describe the fault honestly and we'll factor it into the offer.
Should I include the box, remote and power lead?
If you have them, yes — the original box, the remote and the correct lead all help the figure, and on the heavier Edge and Evo gear the packaging matters more because it's awkward to ship. If they're long gone we still buy; mention what you've got so the quote is accurate rather than a guess.
Is collection free, and how do you handle the heavy units?
Always free. We come to you — same-day across Yorkshire, next-day across the rest of the UK — and lift the weighty kit ourselves, so you're not boxing an Edge A or a stacked Evo system. Bigger systems get a two-person collection. Submit your postcode in the quote form and we'll confirm the earliest slot.
Can you quote my whole Cambridge Audio system together — amp, streamer and speakers?
Yes. If you're clearing or upgrading a full setup, we buy the lot together — usually worth more than splitting it. A Cambridge Audio amp lives in our Sell My Amplifiers category, and NAD is a close peer we also buy if you're comparing or mixing brands. The Sell My Hi-Fi hub covers the streamers, DACs, transports and speakers you might be selling alongside.
About Sell My Tech

Run by people who know the gear. Specialists in Cambridge Audio.

Sell My Tech is a UK specialist buyer of Cambridge Audio hi-fi, and we have traded mid-market British separates and streaming kit across Yorkshire and the rest of the UK for years. We know the generations cold — why an Edge A sits above a CXA81, how the Azur 851A values against the current CX line, and what a boxed Evo 150 or CXN fetches against a tired one. Every unit is priced on the live resale market, box and remote noted, never a generic screen.

Sold my Technics SL1210s

Sold my Technics SL1210s. The whole process was really straightforward. I sent the details through the website and got a fair quote back pretty quickly. Once I accepted, they arranged collection for the same day in Leeds. Communication was good throughout and payment was made straight after the unit was collected and checked. Really smooth experience overall and I'd happily recommend them.
