UK hi-fi amplifiers specialist

What you get when a specialist does the buying

No marketplace risk, no posting heavy kit, no lowball trade-in. A buyer who knows what your gear is really worth.

Paid on exchange

Faster Payment by bank transfer the moment we've powered the amp up and verified it. Funds clear in under 2 hours for most UK banks.

Free, careful collection

A 15kg integrated or a pair of monoblocks is no fun to box and post. We lift, pad and carry it ourselves — no risky courier, no packing on your end.

We know amplifiers

Integrated against pre/power, valve against solid-state, what a recap or a Naim service adds, which black boxes hold up. We price on the real used market, not a generic screen.

Market-led offers

Benchmarked against sold prices on the used and audiophile market for that exact amp — eBay-sold, specialist dealers and the audio forums. Fair, current figures, no haggling.

Heavy + delicate, handled right

Two-person collection for big power amps and valve gear. Valves wrapped, channels tested, chain of custody logged. We treat it like the kit it is.

Support that replies

Real people who know the difference between a NAP 250 and a NAP 300, not bots. Most quote requests answered within 2 hours during UK business hours.

hi-fi amplifiers buy-back prices

Indicative hi-fi amplifiers buy-back prices

Typical UK buy-back ranges by amplifier type, brand tier and condition. Amp value swings hard on the exact model, integrated vs separates, power output and service history — treat these as starting points; your exact quote depends on the unit.

Model Price
Budget / classic integrated (NAD 3020, entry Rotel, older Marantz)
Vintage and entry integrateds. A recent recap or service lifts the figure; tired cosmetics and faults trim it.
£40 – £150
Mainstream integrated (Rega Brio, NAD C-series, Marantz PM, Cambridge Audio)
Current and recent one-box amps in good working order. Boxed with remote sits at the top of the band.
£90 – £350
Premium integrated (Naim Nait, Rega Elex/Aethos, Cyrus, Arcam, Audiolab)
Higher-end single-box amps. Model desirability and service history drive where you land.
£200 – £750
Pre/power separates — preamp (Naim NAC, Cyrus, Quad)
Priced per box. Matching power supply (e.g. Naim flatcap/hicap) essential to the figure.
£150 – £900
Pre/power separates — power amp / monoblocks (Naim NAP, Quad, Rotel)
Per power amp; monoblock pairs quoted together. Higher output and premium brands at the top.
£200 – £1,400
Valve / tube amplifier (Icon Audio, PrimaLuna, Quad II)
Valve complement and recent retube matter. A fresh set of quality tubes adds value.
£150 – £900
Faulty / for service (desirable brands)
Dead channel, scratchy pot, failed caps or hum. Brand and model set the parts/repair value.
£25 – £400
Indicative UK buy-back ranges for hi-fi amplifiers in good working order. Separates are priced per box, and a matching power supply is essential to the figure on brands like Naim. Your exact offer depends on the model, condition, power output and service history — confirmed when we power it up on collection. We also buy speakers and turntables, so we can quote a whole system as one lot.
What affects price
  • + Premium brand + sought-after model (Naim, Cyrus, Quad)
  • + Pre/power separates over a single integrated
  • + Boxed with remote + correct power lead
  • + Recent service, recap or quality retube
  • + Both channels clean, controls quiet
  • Dead or intermittent channel
  • Scratchy volume / balance pots or hum
  • Failed capacitors on a vintage unit
  • Missing power supply on separates
  • Heavy cosmetic wear, dents or scratches

Every kind of hi-fi amplifiers

Based in Yorkshire · UK-wide collection

Most common

Integrated amplifiers

One box, pre and power in a single chassis — Naim Nait, Rega Brio & Elex, Marantz PM-series, NAD, Cyrus, Arcam, Audiolab. The bulk of what we buy. Send the model and condition.

Separates

Pre/power & monoblocks

Two-box and multi-box systems — Naim NAC preamps with NAP power amps, Cyrus pre/power, Quad, plus monoblock pairs. The strongest values we see. List each box and its power supply.

Valve & tube

Valve amplifiers

Tube integrateds and power amps — Icon Audio, PrimaLuna, Quad II and similar. The valve complement and recent retube matter. Tell us the tubes fitted and any service.

Vintage

Classic & vintage amps

The NAD 3020, vintage Quad, Naim olive and chrome-bumper, classic Rotel and Marantz. Desirable even tired — a recap or service can lift the figure rather than sink it.

Faulty & spares

Faulty, dead channel or for service

A dropped channel, scratchy volume pot, hum, a blown rail or failed caps on a vintage unit — none of these stop us buying desirable brands. Tell us the fault and we'll still quote.

Also buying

Speakers, turntables & full systems

Building or breaking up a system? We also buy quality speakers and audiophile turntables, and we'll quote the amp, sources and speakers together as one lot in a single visit.

hi-fi amplifiers selling FAQ

Questions from sellers, answered

Common questions from people selling their hi-fi amplifiers. Answered honestly.

What hi-fi amplifiers do you buy?
Integrated amplifiers, pre/power separates and monoblocks, and valve amps — from Naim, Marantz, NAD, Rotel, Cambridge Audio, Cyrus, Arcam, Audiolab, Rega, Quad and similar quality names. Current models or sought-after vintage like the NAD 3020. If it's a recognised hi-fi amp in reasonable order, it's worth asking about.
How do you price an amplifier? There's no fixed table.
Right — amp value turns on the exact brand and model, whether it's integrated or separates, power output, age, condition and what's boxed, so we don't publish a one-size figure. Send the make, model and condition (and any service history) and we'll come back with a clear, market-led figure, see the indicative ranges above for a starting point.
What's the difference in value between an integrated and pre/power separates?
Separates usually carry more value than a single integrated, because you're selling two or more boxes — a preamp plus one or two power amps, each with its own worth. A Naim NAC preamp and NAP power amp quoted together, with their power supplies, typically beats the same brand's one-box integrated. List every box so the figure is accurate.
Do you buy valve and tube amplifiers?
Yes. Valve integrateds and power amps from Icon Audio, PrimaLuna, Quad and the like are well worth selling. The valve complement and whether it's been retuned recently both matter to the figure — a fresh set of quality tubes adds value, tired or mismatched ones trim it. Tell us what's fitted.
Is my vintage amp like a NAD 3020 still worth selling?
Often very much so. The NAD 3020, vintage Quad, classic Marantz and Naim's olive and chrome-bumper era stay in demand. Age alone doesn't write an amp off — a recent recap or service usually lifts the figure rather than lowering it. Send the model and condition and we'll give you an honest figure with no obligation.
Can I sell a faulty amp — dead channel, scratchy pot or no power?
Yes, on desirable brands especially. A dropped or intermittent channel, a crackly volume or balance pot, a transformer hum, a blown rail fuse or failed capacitors on a vintage unit — none of these necessarily stop a sale. We buy for repair and resale. Describe the fault honestly and we'll factor it into the offer.
How does power output affect the price?
It's one factor among several. Higher-rated power amps and big monoblocks generally fetch more than modest integrateds, but brand, model desirability and condition often outweigh raw wattage — a sought-after low-power valve amp can beat a bigger budget one. Quote the model and we'll price it on what the used market actually pays.
Should I include the box, remote and power lead?
If you have them, yes — original packaging, the remote and the correct power lead all help, and on separates the matching power supply is essential to the figure. Boxes matter most on Naim and other premium gear that's awkward to ship. If they're long gone we still buy; mention it so the quote is accurate.
Is collection free, and how do you handle heavy amps?
Always free. We come to you — same-day across Yorkshire, next-day across the rest of the UK — and lift the heavy, delicate kit ourselves, so you're not boxing a 20kg power amp. Big systems get a two-person collection. Submit your postcode in the quote form and we'll confirm the earliest slot.
Do you also buy speakers and turntables to go with the amp?
Yes. If you're clearing or upgrading a whole system, we buy quality speakers and audiophile turntables too, and we'll quote the lot together — usually worth more than splitting it. For Technics direct-drive decks see our Sell My Technics page, and the Sell My Hi-Fi hub covers CD players, streamers and DACs.

Sold my Technics SL1210s

Sold my Technics SL1210s. The whole process was really straightforward. I sent the details through the website and got a fair quote back pretty quickly. Once I accepted, they arranged collection for the same day in Leeds. Communication was good throughout and payment was made straight after the unit was collected and checked. Really smooth experience overall and I'd happily recommend them.
