Recent Leeds pickups

The kind of kit we collect in Leeds

Indicative of the gear and figures typical for this area.

Typical local pickup

Technics SL-1210 MK2 (pair) — Headingley, LS6 — £820

A graduating student's pair, genuine lids, faders a little worn from gigging, no boxes. Booked the morning the tenancy ended; we collected before the keys went back — a short hop out to Headingley from the city-centre base.

Indicative of a typical collection in this area, not a specific transaction.
Typical local pickup

Pioneer CDJ-2000 NXS2 — Chapel Allerton, LS7 — £560

Single unit, jog wheel clean, screen unmarked, original box kept. A scene DJ moving to a 3000-series setup and selling the spare. Paid on exchange; he wanted it gone the same day, so we worked round his shift.

Indicative of a typical collection in this area, not a specific transaction.
Typical local pickup

Technics SL-1200 MK7 (pair) — Holbeck, LS11 — £960

Near-mint matte black pair, boxed, barely used — a studio downsizing after a move out of the railway arches. Holbeck is straight off the M621, so it was a quick in-and-out with the gear carried out for them.

Indicative of a typical collection in this area, not a specific transaction.
Typical local pickup

Pioneer XDJ-RX3 — Headingley, LS6 — £850

A boxed XDJ-RX3 standalone from a Headingley bedroom DJ heading abroad after graduating — barely marked, all the cables, the lid kept. Collected before the tenancy ended; bank transfer cleared while we packed it.

Indicative of a typical collection in this area, not a specific transaction.
Typical local pickup

iMac 24-inch M1 from Hyde Park, LS6

A graduating student's pink 24-inch M1, boxed with the Magic Keyboard and Mouse, barely a mark on it. Booked the morning the tenancy ended; we collected before the keys went back and carried it down ourselves — a few minutes out to Hyde Park from the city-centre base.

Indicative of a typical collection in this area, not a specific transaction.
Typical local pickup

iMac 27-inch 5K from Chapel Allerton, LS7

An Intel 27-inch 5K from a designer trading up, SSD-equipped and clean, original stand kept but no box. A small corner knock on the screen lowered the figure rather than stopping the sale. Paid on exchange; collected same-day off the A61 round his work shift.

Indicative of a typical collection in this area, not a specific transaction.
Typical local pickup

MacBook Air M2 from Hyde Park, LS6

A finalist's 13-inch M2 Air, 8GB and 256GB, a faint lid scuff from three years of lecture halls. Booked the morning the Hyde Park tenancy ended. We collected off the A660 before the keys went back to the agent, paid on exchange, and the room was empty by teatime.

Indicative of a typical collection in this area, not a specific transaction.
Typical local pickup

MacBook Air M1 from Woodhouse, LS6

A graduate clearing a shared Woodhouse house brought a base M1 Air out alongside two housemates' machines. We grouped all three, quoted them together and collected in one visit near Burley Park station, paying each by transfer before the summer move-out scattered them.

Indicative of a typical collection in this area, not a specific transaction.
The Leeds scene

Why there's good gear round here

Leeds runs deep on house and techno: the Back to Basics legacy, a club circuit that still turns over kit, and two record-shop institutions — Jumbo and Crash — keeping the vinyl side alive. The pattern we see most is student turnover. Every summer, Headingley, Hyde Park and Woodhouse (all LS6) empty out, and lightly-used SL-1200s and entry-level CDJs come up as people graduate and move on. Chapel Allerton and Roundhay are different again — that's where the hi-fi separates come from, professional buyers trading up.

Selling in Leeds — FAQ

Questions from sellers in Leeds

The things people round here actually ask before they sell.

Is there a Clean Air Zone charge for collecting in central Leeds?
No. Leeds dropped its Clean Air Zone plans before they ever went live, so there's no charge for driving into LS1 or LS2 to collect — unlike Bradford or Sheffield. That keeps central Leeds pickups simple; the only thing to sort is a loading spot, which we'll arrange round your street.
The one-way system round Headingley is awkward — can you give a tight time window?
Yes. We know the Headingley and Hyde Park (LS6) streets and the one-ways round Otley Road, so we'll give you a thirty-minute window rather than a vague 'sometime today'. If traffic on the A660 changes things we'll message you an updated time before we set off.
I'm a student in Hyde Park (LS6) moving out — can you collect a deck same-day before my tenancy ends?
That's one of our most common Leeds jobs. Send photos and your move-out date; if it's tight we'll prioritise the slot so the deck is gone and paid for before you hand the keys back. We carry it out — you don't need to drag it down three flights.
How fast can you collect a deck or hi-fi in Leeds?
We're based right in the city, so collection is quick. From the LS1 centre out to Headingley, Chapel Allerton or Holbeck is usually a few minutes, and most of Leeds is comfortably same-day. Outer areas like Horsforth or Morley add a little but are still same-day.
Can you take my record collection along with the turntable?
We buy the deck, not the vinyl — records aren't our trade, so we'd only be guessing at value and you'd do better with a specialist. But we'll happily collect the turntable, cartridge, lid and any accessories, and quote those properly. Keep the records for a record shop.
Do you collect from city-centre flats in LS1 or LS2 with no parking?
Yes. The apartments round the centre and the universities are common pickups. There's no resident parking to clash with, just loading bays — tell us the building and we'll find the nearest legal spot, ring up, and have it done inside the loading window.
Can you get to Roundhay or Chapel Allerton (LS7/LS8) for a hi-fi pickup?
Yes — north Leeds is where a lot of our hi-fi separates come from. Marantz, Cambridge, Rega, a good integrated amp: send the model and condition and we'll quote it, then collect from Roundhay, Chapel Allerton or Meanwood same-day like anywhere else in the city.
