A tidy MK2 pair out of a Saltaire mill flat — genuine lids, one worn fader, boxes long gone, kept by a collector trading up to a Grand Class. Up the M606 and collected the same afternoon; we carried them down from the loft conversion ourselves.
Pioneer CDJ-2000NXS2 (pair) + DJM — Manningham, BD8 — £1,180
An NXS2 pair and a DJM mixer from a Manningham DJ who'd cut his teeth on the bhangra and bassline circuit — flight-cased, one screen scuffed, no boxes. The bank transfer settled on exchange; he kept the headphones, we took the rest.
Technics SL-1200 M3D — Great Horton, BD7 — £250
A single M3D off a University of Bradford student in Great Horton — ex-practice, pitch a little notchy, lid scuffed, no extras. Booked round his lectures; gone and paid for before the end of term, carried out from a shared house on a steep terrace.
Pioneer DDJ-FLX4 — Great Horton, BD7 — £120
A boxed DDJ-FLX4 from a University of Bradford student clearing the room at the end of term — barely used, all the bits, original packaging. A quick BD7 pickup carried out of the shared house and paid on the spot.

Bradford's musical identity runs two strong seams. One is British Asian: the city was a centre of the bhangra boom and the Asian underground, and there's still a soundsystem and bass culture round Manningham and the inner wards. The other is the DIY and alternative scene that grew up around the 1 in 12 Club in the 1980s and never quite went away.
