In short: Sell My Tech is a UK specialist buyer of passive Bowers & Wilkins speakers — the standmounts and floorstanders that run from your own amplifier. The 800 Series Diamond (805, 804, 803, 802 and 801 D4, plus the earlier D3 and D2 and the Signature editions), the 700 Series (705, 706, 702 and 703 in S2 and S3), the 600 Series (606, 607 and 603), and the classics — Nautilus, the Matrix range, CM and CDM. Series and generation set most of the figure here, a matched pair beats a single, and a knocked diamond tweeter won't end a sale. We collect carefully across the UK and pay on exchange.

Our Bowers & Wilkins buying process

Sell your Bowers & Wilkins in four steps

Four steps. From the details to payment, with free insured collection across the UK.

01

Tell us the pair

Model, series and generation (e.g. 805 D4, 702 S3, 603 S3, an 802 D3), the finish, whether it's a matched pair, the cabinet and driver condition, and your postcode. The generation is the detail that moves the figure most, so be exact.

02

Get your offer

A market-led figure built on the series and generation, pair-versus-single, the state of the Continuum cone and diamond tweeter, the finish, and whether you've kept the boxes, grilles and feet. Signature editions carry a premium.

03

Accept and book collection

Pick a slot that suits you. An 803 or 804 floorstander is a two-person lift and the gloss panels mark, so we do the carrying and wrap the cabinet, edges and the tweeter-on-top pod ourselves.

04

Get paid on exchange

We check the pair matches your description and that both speakers play clean across the drivers, then pay you on the spot by bank transfer. No posting a heavy box and waiting on a cheque.

UK Bowers & Wilkins specialist

What you get when a specialist does the buying

No marketplace risk, no posting heavy kit, no lowball trade-in. A buyer who knows what your gear is really worth.

Paid on exchange

Faster Payment by bank transfer the moment we've checked the pair. Funds clear in under 2 hours for most UK banks. No waiting and no packing a 30kg floorstander into a courier box.

Free, careful collection

An 803 D4 is a genuine two-person lift and a nightmare to ship safely. We come to you, carry it ourselves and protect the gloss or real-wood veneer the whole way to the van.

Cabinets and tweeters protected

B&W gloss panels and the exposed tweeter-on-top pod mark and knock at the lightest touch. We wrap corners, top plates and the pod properly, so a clean pair arrives as a clean pair.

Market-led offers

Benchmarked against sold B&W pairs on the used and audiophile market, generation by generation. Fair, current figures for the exact series and finish, with no haggling on collection.

We know Bowers & Wilkins

D2 against D3 against D4, S2 against S3, what a Continuum cone or a diamond dome adds, and why a Signature commands more. We price on the real B&W ladder, not a generic valuation screen.

Support that replies

Real people who know the gear, not bots. Most quote requests answered within 2 hours during UK business hours, same-day at weekends. Send a couple of photos and we'll come straight back.

Bowers & Wilkins buy-back prices

Indicative Bowers & Wilkins buy-back prices

Indicative UK pay-the-seller ranges for a matched pair, by series and generation. Generation moves the figure most on B&W, so treat these as starting points. PLACEHOLDER — your exact quote depends on the model, driver and cabinet condition, finish and whether the boxes survived.

Model Price
800 Series Diamond — 801 / 802 D4 floorstander
The top of the range, priced per pair. D4 leads; D3 and D2 sit below. Boxed and unmarked at the top.
£3,000 – £9,000
800 Series Diamond — 803 / 804 D4 floorstander
Per pair. Earlier D3 and D2 generations valued well below the current D4. Gloss finish condition matters.
£2,000 – £5,500
800 Series Diamond — 805 D4 standmount
Per pair. The diamond-tweeter standmount; stands add value. D3 and D2 805s sit lower.
£1,500 – £3,200
800 Series — Signature editions (805 / 801 D4 Signature)
Per pair. Signature premium over the standard D4 for the upgraded parts and exclusive finish.
£2,200 – £9,500
700 Series — 702 / 703 S3 floorstander, 705 / 706 S3 standmount
Per pair. S3 above S2. Intact tweeter-on-top pod and original boxes lift it.
£700 – £2,400
600 Series — 603 S3 floorstander, 606 / 607 S3 standmount
Per pair. S3 and S2 Anniversary; clean cabinets and a matched pair drive the figure.
£250 – £900
Classics — Matrix 801/802/803, CM range, original 800D/802D
Per pair. Sought-after vintage B&W; condition and model led. Nautilus quoted individually.
£200 – £2,500
Subwoofers — DB-series, ASW, PV1D
Per unit. The active DB subs sit well above the older ASW and PV1D. Working amp essential.
£150 – £1,800
Indicative UK buy-back ranges for passive Bowers & Wilkins speakers in good order, quoted as a matched pair unless noted. Generation is the biggest driver on B&W, so a D4 and a D2 of the same model land very differently. We also buy B&W subwoofers, the FS stands and complete systems; see our hi-fi page for the amp, CD player or streamer. Your exact figure is set after we check the pair on collection.
What affects price
  • + Newer generation (D4 over D3 over D2, S3 over S2)
  • + Complete matched pair, close serials
  • + Boxed with original B&W packaging
  • + Clean gloss or real-wood finish, undamaged tweeter pod
  • + Signature edition or sought-after classic

Bowers & Wilkins we buy

Every kind of Bowers & Wilkins

Based in Yorkshire · UK-wide collection

800 Series Diamond

801, 802, 803, 804 & 805 D4 (and Signature)

The flagship line and the strongest values we buy — the full D4 lineup from the 805 D4 standmount up to the 801 D4, with the HTM81 and HTM82 centres and the DB subs, plus the earlier D3 and D2. The 805 D4 Signature and 801 D4 Signature sit above the standard editions. Give us the generation and finish.

700 Series

705, 706, 702 & 703 (S3 and S2)

The carbon-dome, tweeter-on-top range — the 705 S3 and 706 S3 standmounts, the 702 S3 and 703 S3 floorstanders, the HTM71 and HTM72 centres, and the earlier S2. Boxed pairs with an undamaged top tweeter carry the value. Tell us which generation you have.

600 Series

606, 607 & 603 (S3 and S2 Anniversary)

The value-led Continuum range — the 606 S3 and 607 S3 standmounts and the 603 S3 floorstander, plus the S2 Anniversary editions. Clean cabinets and a matched pair drive the figure. A steady used market when both speakers are present and undamaged.

Flagship & classics

Nautilus, Matrix, CM & older 800D

The iconic Nautilus rarely changes hands, but if you have one, talk to us. We also buy the sought-after Matrix 801, 802 and 803, the CM range (CM5, CM6, CM9, CM10), CDM models, the original 800D and 802D Diamond, and the 685 and 686. Vintage B&W still has a keen following.

Faulty & spares

Knocked tweeters, blown drivers & marks

A dinged tweeter-on-top pod, a dead or crackling diamond dome, a torn Continuum cone or perished surrounds, a scuffed gloss cabinet — none of these end a sale on a desirable pair. Tell us which driver and which speaker, and we'll price the repair in rather than walk away.

Also buying

B&W subwoofers, stands & whole systems

The DB-series and ASW active subs, the PV1D, the FS dedicated stands, and complete B&W setups. Selling speakers alongside an amp or a deck? List the electronics on our hi-fi hub and the speakers on our speakers page, and it all goes in one quote and one collection.

Bowers & Wilkins selling FAQ

Questions from sellers, answered

Common questions from people selling their Bowers & Wilkins. Answered honestly.

What Bowers & Wilkins speakers do you buy?
Passive B&W speakers that run from a separate amplifier. The 800 Series Diamond (805, 804, 803, 802, 801 in D2, D3 and D4, plus the Signature editions and the HTM centres), the 700 Series (705, 706, 702, 703 in S2 and S3), the 600 Series (606, 607, 603) and the classics — Nautilus, the Matrix range, CM and CDM. A matched pair is what we want most. Send the model and generation and we'll tell you straight whether it's one for us.
Do you buy the wireless B&W range — Zeppelin, Formation or the Px headphones?
No. Our focus is passive B&W hi-fi speakers that need an amplifier behind them. We don't buy the Zeppelin, the Formation wireless system, the powered Panorama soundbars, or the Px and PI headphones, because those sit in a different market with different buyers. If you're not certain which type you have, send the model and we'll let you know where it fits.
Does the generation — D2, D3 or D4, or S2 versus S3 — change the price?
Yes, more than any other single factor. B&W revises each series over time: the 800 line ran D2, then D3, then the current D4, and the 700 line went S2 then S3. The newer generation almost always fetches more, and the gap can be large on the same model number. So an 804 D4 and an 804 D2 are valued very differently. Tell us the exact generation and we'll pitch the figure accordingly.
What is a Signature edition worth compared with the standard model?
More. The 805 D4 Signature and 801 D4 Signature carry upgraded crossover parts and an exclusive finish, and the used market rates them above the standard D4. If you have a Signature, say so plainly and confirm the finish, as it lifts the figure noticeably over the equivalent standard edition.
Do I need both speakers, or will you buy a single?
A matched pair is worth far more than one speaker, because almost every buyer needs two, so a lone B&W is mainly a spare or a repair donor. We'll still look at a single from a desirable line like the 805 or 705, but expect a small fraction of the pair figure. Always tell us whether it's a pair or only the one.
Can I sell B&W with a knocked tweeter-on-top or a damaged driver?
Often, yes. A dinged tweeter-on-top pod, a dead or crackling diamond dome, a torn Continuum or Kevlar cone, a buzzing midrange or perished surrounds on older woofers are repairable on desirable B&W models, so we still buy. Tell us which driver and which speaker is affected and we'll factor the repair into the offer rather than turn it down.
How much do the original boxes matter for B&W?
A lot. B&W floorstanders are awkward and risky to move without their fitted packaging, and the gloss panels mark in transit, so the original boxes genuinely lift the figure and make collection safer. If the boxes are long gone we still buy and bring our own protection, but mention it up front so the quote is accurate.
Do scratches or marks on the cabinets affect the price?
They can. B&W gloss black, gloss white and real-wood veneer finishes show scuffs, ring marks and chipped corners, and cosmetics matter to the next owner. Light marks trim a little, while heavy damage or a cracked cabinet trims more. Honest photos with your enquiry get you an accurate figure and no surprises on collection.
Can I sell my whole B&W system, including a subwoofer or the stands?
Yes. We buy the DB-series and ASW subwoofers, the PV1D, and the FS dedicated stands, and you can sell the speakers, sub and stands together. If you're clearing a full setup with an amp, CD player or streamer too, list the electronics on our hi-fi hub and the speakers on our speakers page, so the lot goes in one quote and one collection.
Is collection free, and how does it work for heavy floorstanders?
Always free. We come to you, same-day across Yorkshire and next-day across the rest of the UK. Tall B&W floorstanders like the 803 and 804 are a two-person lift, so we handle the carrying and wrap the corners, edges and the top tweeter to protect the finish. Submit your postcode in the quote form and we'll confirm the earliest slot.
About Sell My Tech

Sell My Tech is a UK specialist buyer of passive Bowers & Wilkins speakers — 800 Series Diamond, 700 and 600 Series, and the Nautilus, Matrix, CM and CDM classics. We have bought and resold British hi-fi across Yorkshire and the rest of the UK for years, so we read a B&W pair the way the resale market does: series and generation first (a 804 D4 sits well above a D2), then a matched pair over a single, the Continuum and diamond drivers, the finish, and whether the original boxes survived. Sold my Technics SL1210s

Sold my Technics SL1210s. The whole process was really straightforward. I sent the details through the website and got a fair quote back pretty quickly. Once I accepted, they arranged collection for the same day in Leeds. Communication was good throughout and payment was made straight after the unit was collected and checked. Really smooth experience overall and I'd happily recommend them.
